As a natural born traveler and a passionate artist, Andrea has created a life rich with experiences in several locations working with several artistic mediums. Originating in England, Andrea’s travels have taken her throughout Asia, Africa, Europe, Central America, the United States and for the last thirteen years to the Kootenays in British Columbia, Canada. Along the way, she has immersed herself within the music, theatre,
and digital arts industries always revealing a strong sense of purpose with each endeavor. With an extensive background in the theatre and music industries and a passion for Photography and Film, it’s a natural progression to take all of these attributes and invest them into filmmaking.
Following Digital Design Courses at the Kootenay School of the Arts and studies in the Multimedia Production and Design Diploma Program at Selkirk College in BC, Canada, Andrea continued to then graduate with honors from the Advanced International Digital Film Program at Selkirk. She formed her film production company
The Visual Blueprint in 2007 and is partner in the production company Theme Room Films.
Andrea has produced, edited and shot a number of independent documentaries, music videos, live events, promotional videos and research projects including her independent experimental short ‘Sometimes I Dream In Orange’ which screened for the First Fliks Film Festival at the Capitol Theatre in Nelson, BC, Canada in 2007.
As the Film Editor on the Canadian documentary ‘Lets Find A Way’ screened on the world film festival circuit Andrea received the Award for Best Sound Editor at the 2009 Toronto ReelHeart International Film Festival, ON, Canada. The film went on to receive the Award of Excellence in Filmmaking at the 2010 Canada International Film Festival in Vancouver, BC, the Music Video Award at the 2009 Mexico International Film Festival, Best Short Documentary at the 2009 Washougal International Film Festival, USA and 2009 On Location: Memphis International Film Festival, USA.
The feature documentary by Theme Room Films ‘Greening The Cube - 100 Mile Housing’ which Andrea is Director of Cinematography, Co-Producer and Film Editor, has been shown extensively (and independently) throughout the West Kootenays and Columbia Basin area of British Columbia, and was an official selection for the Rossland Mountain Film Festival and The Okanagan International Film Festival in Kelowna. It made it’s European premiere at the Globians Documentary Film Festival in Berlin and has been featured at numerous other small film festivals in Canada’s western provinces; also at numerous collegiate and post-secondary institutions as an addendum to courses taught in Integrated Environmental Technologies and Green Building. Having attracted the interest of industry professionals too, in the form of the United States Green Building Council; an advance version of the film screened to a theatre full of USGBC Houston, Texas chapter members, and featured in the Greenbuild International Film Festival in Chicago, USA at the 2010 Greenbuild International Conference & Expo and shown in the traveling film festival of 2011 with the USGBC.
